Had outpatient surgery. Surgery unit was very nice, as well as all of the doctors, nurses and staff. I was very nervous, but they all went above and beyond trying to help me relax...before the drugs! It is an older, smaller facility, but that did not hinder my experience, and the are going through renovations. I would definitely recommend this hospital, and have any other procedures that I may have to have there again.
I have an ongoing medical condition that lands me in the hospital several times a year. The staff so Richmond, ESPECIALLY the nurses are awesome. All of my care is done here. They always remember me, and of course, I have my favorite nurses. Even if I move to the west side I would want to come here. Awesome hospital to be as small as it is.
Poorly run. Bathrooms, waiting area and office rooms were filthy. Employees were dressed terrible. Water cooler was from 1961. Trash containers were overflowing with the top of them covered with dirt. TV in waiting area was dirty and old. Prescription we received wasn't even signed by a doctor (prescription was hard to fill). There was 1 patient ahead of us in the ER and he left because he was waiting so long. We waited an hour and a half with 1 patient ahead of us. Would of received better service if the 3 stooges took care of us. Bad experience.

Make this your last choice for appointments - only if you are desperate. It appears as though University Hospitals slapped their sign on the front of the building and called it "UH Quality". Not so. Gloomy, Bad Smells, Unclean Waiting Rooms. Very confusing floor plan, with no help for clients being sent from one area to another. Hippa? Not here, baby. Just sit near any "check in" window and you will know more about other people (including their names, SSN and addresses) than you want to know. More bad attitudes than usually found in this type of facility. However, I actually have compassion for them for having to work there. I would be embarrassed if that were my workplace. Need I say more?
